ASQ Saskatchewan Section 0414 is one of many global sections of ASQ. Our section represents all of Saskatchewan. ASQ Saskatchewan was founded as a Subsection of ASQ in late 1993, and became a full Section on July 1, 1996.
During the year we host events that are relevant to Quality professionals and provide opportunities for members to get together and exchange ideas.
Please join us. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or go to the ASQ.org membership page.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Clayton Lessmeister, and I am very honored to call myself the chair of the ASQ Saskatchewan section. I have some very big shoes to fill from my predecessor Gary Gehring. Gary has been a very active member of ASQ for several years and has made some fantastic contributions to, not only, the Saskatchewan Section but to ASQ as a whole. I wonít be able to fill Garyís shoes completely but I will do the best I can.
I have been working in the Quality profession for over 20 years here in Saskatoon in several different sectors. The one thing that has been constant in my professional journey is ASQ. I joined ASQ shorty after I arrived in Saskatoon and since have presented at two different ASQ World Conferences, and attend three. ASQ has been invaluable in my career development as well as kept me up to date in the world of Quality and Continuous Improvement.
The Executive of the ASQ Saskatchewan section meets about 10 times a year. We discuss strategies and develop plans to try to best meet the needs of our section members. Last year we organized and conducted a Lead Auditor Course for ISO 9001:2015 along with participating in the ASQ Canada conference. This year we have organized smaller events and have been working on collecting literature that is available to our members.
This year is a transformation year for ASQ which has taken up a lot of our discussions and time, so we havenít delivered as many events as we would have liked. These changes will have a significant effect on how the sections are run and maintained but should have little effect on our section members. As more details become finalized we will try to keep our members up to date but if anybody is interested in what is going on, information on all things ASQ is available on their website. I would encourage all of our members to visit the site often. There is always something new to discover and learn.
